2022 Asian Games launches three digital franchises built by AntChain TechNode

On March 31, the 2022 Asian Games, to be held in September in Hangzhou, launched a series of digital franchises named “Asian Games in China” on the Alipay mini-program, powered by AntChain’s digital collection solution.

The main characters of the three digital franchises are the mascots of the three Chinese Asian Games: “Pan Pan” from the 1990 Beijing Asian Games, “Five Rams” (A Xiang, A He, A Ru, A Yi and Le Yangyang) from the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and “Jiangnan Memories” (Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen) of 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Users can explore and purchase these digital franchises through the Alipay “Smart Asian Games” mini-program and Topnod (鲸探), an Ant Group platform for collecting, exploring and sharing digital collectibles. With a limited edition of 20,000 copies, each with a unique, immutable identifier to ensure seamless copyright protection.

With the rapid development of digital technologies, the global sports industry is actively embracing digital transformation. In 2021, AntChain became the official global blockchain partner of UEFA Euro 2020 and the UEFA national football team, with winner’s score records uploaded to the blockchain for permanent storage for the first times.

According to Deloitte Global, NFTs or digital collectibles for sports media will generate over $2 billion in 2022, roughly double the 2021 figure.
