IPL 2021 Phase 2 – IPL 2021 Final Teams: With less than a month to go before IPL 2021 Phase 2, which kicks off on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates, 4 franchises are still looking for player replacements. Among them, the Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders must each confirm a player while the Rajasthan Royals are still awaiting confirmation on Ben Stokes and Andrew Tye. Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore are also due to name a replacement for Kane Richardson. Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad all have players available.

IPL 2021: 4 franchises have final teams, 4 remaining teams are still waiting for player replacement

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – IPL 2021 Final Teams:

Kings of Punjab must replace two unavailable players – Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith. While they have brought in Nathan Ellis as a replacement, coach Anil Kumble must decide on the other.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have three players unavailable. Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams and Finn Allen have all stepped down. RCB has brought in Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmatha Chameera and Tim David, but is still in talks with George Garton to replace the Australian, as replacement Scott Kuggeleijn will not return either.

For the riders of Kolkata, the only absent is Pat Cummins. The Australian has already announced that he will not return for the UAE leg of the tournament. It’s a big void to fill as they need a fast pitcher who can also play with the ball to keep the team balanced.

For the Royals of RajasthanJofra Archer’s replacement Andrew Tye is expected to return but has yet to be confirmed. The only certain withdrawal was Jos Buttler and the franchise has already named Glenn Phillips as a replacement. But the franchise is still waiting for a response from the versatile Ben Stokes.

The English all-rounder is recovering from a finger injury he suffered in the 1st IPL 2021 match and took an indefinite hiatus from cricket. The other who has yet to confirm his return is Liam Livingstone. The English drummer is expected to return, however.

IPL 2021 Phase 2: Franchises that do not yet have a full workforce:

  • Royals of Rajasthan still a place to fill Ben stokes absence if he does not return and is still awaiting confirmation on Andrew Tye.
  • Calcutta Horsemen will have to appoint a replacement for Pat cummins.
  • Kings of Punjab need a quick melon to replace Jhye richardson.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore must appoint a replacement for Kane richardson.

IPL 2021 Phase 2: The Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, were the first team to announce they had all the players available while the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals also finalized the squads. The Sunrisers Hyderabad could have received a heavy blow, but Jonny Bairstow, David Warner and Kane Williamson are all confirmed to return for the UAE round.

“Yes, the BCCI’s delay in responding officially played a role in the last minute hassles. We kept hearing about player availability in the newspapers, but the BCCI did not officially confirm it until August. ” a franchise official told InsideSport.co last week.
