Australian tactician and content creator Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit is back at Gen.G, this time to be a VALUING head coach, the organization announced today.
The 25-year-old previously worked for the North American organization as a CS: GO head coach between December 2019 and January 2021 and had been absent from the competition since Cloud9 closed his CS: GO division in May. Now that Elmapuddy has switched to FPS from Riot Games, he will be reunited with Kenneth “koosta” Suen, whom he trained in Counter strike twice before.
Elmapuddy is coming to Gen.G just in time for the North American VCT 2021 Last Chance Qualifier, which runs October 12-17. The team had been training without a coach since mid-August, when Matthew “mCe” Elmore parted ways with the organization following a top-six spot in NA VCT Stage Three Challengers Two in July.
“I am so excited to be back and to find koosta on a roster again,” Elmapuddy said in the official announcement. “I am delighted to be a coach VALUING because I think it’s a game where coaches can have a lot of impact, there’s a lot less defined, people are still working on the meta, and there are changes all the time for agents.
The Aussie isn’t the only addition to Gen. G’s VALUING team before the NA VCT 2021 Last Chance Qualifier. The North Americans benched Michael “MkaeL” De Luca earlier this month and loaned Nolan “Temperature” Pepper to Evil Geniuses yesterday.
The NA VCT Last Chance Qualifier will see 10 teams battle for a spot in VALUING Champions at the end of the year. Gen. G will play C9 Blue in the round of 16 and face 100 Thieves in the top group quarter-finals if they win the first match.
