LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for additional platinum category players ahead of the seventh season.

Franchises are not happy with the quality of the players participating in the league and fear that this will affect the “image of the tournament”.

In response to demand from the franchises, the PCB said they will do their best to attract top-quality players for the replacement draft, which is scheduled to take place in a virtual session on January 7.

The PCB also discussed the possibility of including South African cricketers in PSL7, keeping in mind that the Mzansi Super League has been canceled due to fears of Covid-19.

“We have no reservations about including South African players because we want the best cricketers to participate in the league. Six more platinum players would be perfect for us, ”the franchises told PCB.

In the replacement draft, the Karachi Kings will have the first pick, followed by Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans and Peshawar. This order was decided by lot, according to the PCB.
