Nintendo and Lego marked Halloween by announcing a new line of Luigi’s Mansion Lego sets.
The sets, which, although revealed during Halloween, are not expected to release until January 1, 2022, include three packs featuring characters and items from Nintendo’s spooky platform and puzzle game series.
The Lab and Poltergust set includes Luigi’s famous vacuum weapon, as well as Professor E Gadd. Meanwhile, the Entryway set includes Luigi’s Polterpup companion, and the larger Haunt-and-Seek set includes King Boo and a puzzle-filled course.
The real Lego character Luigi, released in August and interacting with the sets via a sensor and a speaker, is sold separately.
LEGO Super Mario Luigi Mansion Sets
The Lego Group said last month that Super Mario was “one of the company’s most successful thematic launches.” The company has previously said it hopes to have a “long and successful” relationship with Nintendo.
Lego Mario interactive sets see players collect coins and defeat enemies in real “levels”. The first set in the line was the Mario Starter Course, which launched along with other expansion sets. This was followed by a Luigi Starter Course and other expansion sets.
Lego has recently started marking some Super Mario products as “soon to be retired” including the Boomer Bill Barrage Expansion Set, Whomp’s Lava Trouble Expansion Set, and the Builder Mario Power-Up Pack.
