ABINGDON, Virginia – Charles Vess seeks to share more of his âStardustâ magic.
Vess, 70, has released a new book called “The Art of Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess’s Stardust” (Titan Press, $ 39.95).
The book is exactly what the title says.
âIt’s an informal story of the making of the book,â Vess said. âIt’s a giant art book.
Vess worked there for three years.
On Sunday, the famed fantasy artist with a studio in Abingdon, Va., Signs copies of his first book in over a year.
This new color book spans 200 pages. Suitable for a coffee table, it measures 19 inches by 12 inches.

âNeil started telling me the story in 1990. And it just grew from there,â he said.
âStardustâ was released in 2007.
Vess grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, and moved to the greater Bristol area in 1991.
He worked as an artist for about 50 years.
