NASSAU – RBC Financial (Caribbean) Limited (“RBC”) has been awarded the coveted “Best Digital Banking – Caribbean 2022” by Capital Finance International (CFI). This award is a recognition of the strength of the Bank in the field of digital banking.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Capital Finance International,” said Chris Ronald, Head of Caribbean.
“RBC has embarked on a journey of digital transformation. We started this pursuit when we started making significant investments in the channels that we thought were the future of banking in the region. We are grateful to CFI for recognizing the value of our digital banking channels.
“This award reminds us that we are committed to anticipating how our customers’ banking needs and preferences continue to evolve so that we can serve them now and in the future.
“This recognition supports our vision to be the first digital relationship bank.”
A jury report made available to the Bank indicates that “access and convenience were the determining factors for early investments. People rely on the Bank’s digital services, which have proven convenient in normal times and critical during a crisis, such as the pandemic.
RBC’s digital banking app has over 170,000 active users who log in more than two million times per month. Transactions have gradually moved away from the branch to self-service channels, with a notable increase due to the first COVID-19 related lockdowns. Today, RBC clients conduct more transactions digitally than in-branch (over the counter).
The report further stated: “RBC Caribbean Banking does not intend to become a digital-only bank. It will maintain a strategic branch network for more complex financial advice, supported by knowledgeable staff and a modern banking infrastructure. The idea is to complement the Bank’s growing digital services with that ever invaluable human touch. (PR)
